XPRIZE proudly announces the Grand Prize winner and the five distinguished award winners of Competition #2. These teams demonstrated breakthrough medical sensing technologies that will ultimately enable faster diagnoses and easier personal health monitoring.
DNA Medicine Institute (DMI) of Cambridge, Mass., took home the grand prize of $525,000 in this year’s Nokia Sensing XCHALLENGE. DMI has developed a portable device that can run hundreds of clinical lab tests on a very small sample of blood.
The DNA Medicine Institute (DMI), a technology incubator and lab, took the $525,000 grand prize in the Nokia Sensing XCHALLENGE today for creating a handheld device that can run hundreds—or even thousands—of lab tests using a drop of blood in a matter of minutes.
The goal of the XCHALLENGE is to accelerate innovation in sensor technologies that address healthcare problems.
