Dr. Chan is a physician-innovator who has made numerous contributions to genomic technologies, medical devices, and instrumentation. He is the Founder, President, and CEO of the DNA Medicine Institute, an organization focused on advancing patient care, alleviating human suffering, and treating disease through innovation. Eugene graduated from Harvard University Summa Cum Laude and the Harvard Medical School, MIT HST Program with honors. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital and is licensed to practice medicine in multiple states. While taking a six year hiatus from his medical training, he was the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of U.S. Genomics, a company that has completed two commercial DNA analysis instruments based on his principle of single molecule fluorescent DNA scanning. He is the Founder or Co-Founder of various biotechnology and medical devices companies, which in total have raised more than $120 million in funding. He holds more than 50 issued and pending patents.
