Our low cost health tool is built upon the Camera Culture Group’s pioneering research in computational photography. Our research also considers trends such as visual computing, smart phone apps, cloud based analysis and big data.
About Team Leader
Ramesh Raskar joined the MIT Media Lab from Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories in 2008. He is currently the head of the Lab's Camera Culture research group. His interests span the fields of computational photography, inverse problems in imaging and human-computer interaction. Recent inventions include transient imaging to look around a corner, a next-generation CAT-scan machine, imperceptible markers for motion capture, long-distance barcodes and low-cost eye care devices. Ramesh Raskar has received many awards including: the TR100 Award from Technology Review in 2004, the Global Indus Technovator Award, the Darpa Young Faculty award, the LAUNCH Health Innovation Award, and the Vodafone Wireless Innovation Project Awards in 2011 and 2014.
